A special anniversary brought together not only the friends of Bulgaria in the Berlin Philharmonie. Representatives of Bulgarian associations, companies involved in Bulgaria and representatives of politics were invited to take part in the festive concert on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the Bulgarian Cultural Institute in Berlin.

The Sofia Philharmonic Orchestra gave its first guest performance in the Berlin Philharmonie with Nayden Todorov as conductor and Ludmil Angelov at the piano. The concert was opened by H. E. the Ambassador of the Republic of Bulgaria in Germany, Mrs. Shekerletova, and Mrs. Katrin Budde, Chairwoman of the Committee for Culture and Media in the German Bundestag. Numerous guests of honour were present, such as the Minister of Culture of Bulgaria, Prof. Velislav Minekov, Desislava Radeva, wife of the President of the Republic of Bulgaria, Tim Kurth, President of the German-Bulgarian Chamber of Industry and Commerce (DBIHK) and Managing Director of Aurubis Bulgaria, Mitko Vassilev, Managing Director of the German-Bulgarian Chamber of Industry and Commerce (DBIHK), other members of the German Bundestag, as well as ambassadors and representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited in Berlin.
