The Bulgarian Ministry of Environment and Water has implemented an electronic system for the submission of documents and the tracking of procedures related to transboundary shipments of waste, which are subject to prior written notification and consent under Regulation (EC) No 1013/2006 of the European Parliament and the Council of 14 June 2006 on shipments of waste.

The system, launched on 1 October 2023, enables the electronic submission of applications and accompanying documentation, saving of the notification number, creation of documents under Annexes IA, IB, and VII of Regulation (EC) No 1013/2006, as well as inquiries about the current status of already requested electronic administrative services. At this initial stage, the option to submit notification documentation in paper form is retained.

The new electronic system will serve both legal entities (exporters-notifiers; persons arranging the shipment) and experts of the administrations concerned, who, under the Waste Management Act, have control functions in cross-border shipments.

The introduction of the electronic system aims to streamline activities related to cross-border waste shipments and reduce administrative burdens.

INNO-CON welcomes this change and looks forward to the opportunity to further assist its customers in leveraging these advantages to make the procedure faster, more efficient, and transparent. Our strength lies not only in extensive expertise and years of experience but also in our excellent language skills in Bulgarian, German, and English, facilitating seamless communication with the relevant authorities.
