The Ministry of Environment and Water has halted the notification procedures for transboundary movement of waste under Regulation (EC) No 1013/2006 due to multiple legal violations which have been uncovered in Bulgaria in recent months. Such violations were also found in shipments from Germany.
In lieu of the notification procedure, special inspections are currently being carried out by the Ministry of Environment and Water together with the Customs Agency. These inspections verify whether the waste has been legally declared.
